Best hotel in Húsavík
A reliable member of the Fosshotel chain, this one in Húsavík is a modern and comfortable, well-equipped hotel in the heart of the village, just walking distance from the harbor. It’s also in walking distance from the wonderful GeoSea geothermal baths that has one of the most amazing infinity pools you will ever take a dip into.
The village is aptly named the capital of the whale-watching in Iceland (or Europe, as the local claim) and the few minutes’ walk to the port area will quickly relieve what it’s all about: nice boats waiting to take visitors out to the bay for an almost guaranteed whale-watching success (without being too busy, crowded, tacky or touristy). All the rooms are spacious, modernly furnished and come with satellite TV, mini fridge, wi-fi and much more. The hotel got a new annex in 2016 and some over-all improvements, making it on par with Reykjavík hotels and the best one in the region.
