FOSSHOTEL WESTFJORDS

WESTFJORDS

Scenic sea-side village Patreksfjördur

Thanks to the Fosshotel chain, we can book good accommodation in some remote areas where you would mostly find basic guesthouses. The one in Patreksfjördur is a simple and clean hotel and the location is great for travelers in the Westfjords region.

The small fisherman village is a nice place to come to after exploring the amazing sites on the southern part of the Westfjords, like the Dynjandi waterfall, Látrabjarg sea cliffs (we dare say, Europe’s most impressive) and Raudisandur long red sand beach (where you can walk for hours without meeting anyone). The Westfjords are home to some of the most incredible places and attractions in Iceland, yet being the path less chosen by tourists.

We book the Superior Double rooms and the Suites which can accommodate three persons. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom, tv, fridge, hair dryer, safety deposit box, coffee and tea makers, telephone and wi-fi. All rooms have mountain views and some also great views overlooking the fjord.

WHAT WE LIKE:
  • Best choice for a hub on the southern part of the Westfjords.
  • Honest and clean hotel.
  • Helpful and attentive staff.
  • Picturesque sea-side village.
  • Hotel’s web-site
WORDS FROM A GUEST:
“Lovely hotel, amazing view and bird watching from our room – eiders,  Arctic terns, – and very helpful friendly staff. Modern room, smallish but super clean and comfortable. Nice choice of breakfast foods and the coffee was great.”
