Húsafell is a place that’s been cherished by local people since early last century. It’s because of the mild summers, the lovely natural birch woods and the local tradition of welcoming travelers. What the foreign eye will catch as well are the lava fields, the glaciers, glacial streams and the waterfalls.
The rooms are contemporary and decorated with paintings by Húsafell renowned and eccentric artist, Páll Gudmundsson. The floors are heated and the toiletries are made from Icelandic herbs. The architectural design is in harmony with the environment and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. All the rooms come with modern amenities such as a flat screen tv, tea and coffee maker, refrigerator and bathrobe on request. The Deluxe rooms and above have bathtubs in addition to a shower.
People will travel from far to enjoy the exquisite meals prepared by the master chefs and to our experience, this is the hotel where we have had the best Northern Lights viewing success (not to be taken for granted though)
