A secluded hideaway at the gateway to the Icelandic Highlands, where you will step back in time, experience the warmest of welcomes, traditional Icelandic food and as many adventures as you have time for.
When you drive into the Fljótsdalur valley and arrive at the Wilderness Center you quickly realize this place is quite something different. The old farm and the farmland is so peaceful, you just feel like taking a deep breath and enjoying the moment. The “hotel” is both the refurbished farm-house as well as a museum-guesthouse (a dorm in the most unique old attic room) where every little detail did get 100% attention.
When the owners and hosts Denni and Arna dedicated their lives to this wonderful concept, few years ago, they decided the boutique hotel had to be as close to an original Icelandic farm as possible, down to small wooden nails in furniture or the authentic cooking served around the kitchen table. We think they did a marvelous job.
We’ll try to get you the Landowner’s suite when staying at this place and you definitely have to enjoy the great sauna and the hot spring pool. We offer countless extra activities in close collaboration with the owners.
