On the very scenic South-East corner of Iceland, where the big glacier Vatnajökull meets some impressive mountain ridges and the black sand beaches, a mountain with the most curious shape caught the eye of the film-maker Christopher Nolan for his first film of the Batman trilogy, Batman begins.
The choice is pretty obvious and no need for digital improvements in the film. The actual name of the mountain is Eystrahorn.
The region is very dramatic and a wonderful place to visit. It’s the end of the long South Coast Road with all the splendour Iceland has to offer and the beginning of the Eastern region, the Eastfjords, and the road less travelled. So beautiful and tranquil.
