Is it way too early to start planning a Northern Lights adventure tour in Iceland next winter?
Not at all! At least some of our clients would agree on that, as we are now well into planning next season’s Northern Lights adventures with a variety of private itineraries for some good customers.
True, we never know what the Lights may do but we can better secure the best programs and the hotels for those who plan with good advance. The Northern lights season starts in September and goes through March. The best months are believed to be September, October and February, March.
And where is the best place to go? We’d like our itineraries to have with good variety and therefore go to at least two regions. We have had our best success in our tours with the guests that have gone to the western part of Iceland, like Húsafell, as well as the north region and stayed around lake Mývatn, but thirdly the village Kirkjubæjarklaustur on the south coast has been quite good. So these are some of the main ingredients we’d like to put in our Northern Lights recipe.
